Class A Uniform, Fools Style!

Posted: June 29, 2010 in Chapter News

Over the last couple of years the fire industry has taken many turns.  One of them is the emphasis on when and where a firefighter can wear a Class A uniform.

In years past, most departments allowed their personnel to wear the Class A to any function (parades, lectures and other FD related activities) and one did not have to get permission to do so.  Today, though, is a different time and we are looked at in a different light.  These days if you wear your Class A to any event, you must get permission from your department because in their eyes, you are officially representing your department.  Even further, some departments will discipline their employees (as far as termination) if an individual is found wearing their Class A uniform without permission.  Go to the International’s website to order.

Chuck, unfortunately they are only available to order prior to each year’s annual Fools International Convention. They should be available again to order around June just prior to the 2011 convention, which is will be held in Texas. Our chapter tshirts are still available in L and XL for only $15.
