Come join your brother and sister firefighters for some Halloween fun and Foolish brotherhood at Kilroy’s in Springfield on Saturday, October 30th at 7:00pm. Only $10 donation at the door with some proceeds benefitting the Fairfax Fire Hockey Team. Costumes recommended, but not required. Where your lid if you’re allowed. I have to admit that I, as well as the rest of the EBoard, were pretty disappointed in not only the membership, but the members of the Fairfax Fire hockey team (who this was for) last night. We had a private room, stocked tiki bar, two bartenders to ourselves, and NO ONE showed up. We waited for 2 hours until the bartenders started to pack it in.
Now, I do understand that this is a busy weekend with Halloween, but the lack of participation on behalf of our membership is getting pretty bad. It took quite a bit of leg work and preperation to make this (and all of our events) possible. Please let us know what we can do to make things ‘work’ for the chapter. No input = no change. No participation = no change. I really hope this doesn’t happen again. Other chapters would have had a packed house. Don’t you remember what being a firefighter and a FOOL meant to you when you signed up? Please feel free to leave a post and let the EBoard know what we can do for you, the membership.
